Section two: Relate: How are we accountable and what should we do
Challenge 2:
Become familiar with the accountability frameworks for gender equality and women's empowerment, and understand the roles and responsibilities of OHCHR staff to integrate a gender perspective into their work.
In order to confront these challenges, participants will be led by the following learning objectives:

Learning Objectives:
  • Become familiar with the accountability frameworks for GE (OHCHR mandate, UN system wide frameworks)
  • Be familiar with key priorities of the OHCHR Gender Equality Policy and strategies for its implementation
  • Understand your responsibility to integrate gender equality

For objective 3:
  • Build 3 characters, one manager, one programme or HR officer /professional staff member, one G-staff, who are excellent at gender integration. What do they do? (see needs assessment) Identify candidates for interviews, shadow pictures
  • Click on the division you are a part of to learn about how you can integrate gender *see checklists e pas language

  • SPB GF to prepare a gender integration induction session for new mandate-holders with the support of WRGS

Treaty bodies experts and Secretariat are familiar with gender equality in the context of each human rights instrument
  • HRTD GF to map out and engender existing guidelines and checklists with support of WRGS
